ADVENTURE PROPOSAL in REYKJAVÍK

S&M traveled from the USA to Iceland in October as part of an organized group trip. However, S didn't want to miss this golden opportunity to propose to her girlfriend, M. We all know that a proposal during a trip, especially in Iceland, adds that extra layer of special. S spent nearly a year orchestrating this moment, and it was absolutely worth the anticipation. Spoiler alert: M said yes, and it was a remarkably emotional, intimate, and, of course, fun moment!

S shared with M that she had arranged a simple couple's photo session with a local Icelandic photographer to capture professional images of their journey. Recently, they had purchased a new house, making this the perfect occasion to update their couple's photos for their new home's walls.

Under this ruse, M remained unsuspecting, and we proceeded with a delightful couple's session in two stunning locations in the volcanic area of Heiðmörk, a mere 10-minute drive from Reykjavík. We'd agreed with S through our email exchanges that at the final location, she would propose to M. To break from the usual traditions (you know, the traditional image of the guy kneeling), M opted to propose while seated on the ground, in a highly intimate and affectionate pose. Amid kisses and warm hugs, she popped the question. We adored this unique proposal idea from the very beginning, and personally, I believe this unconventional approach was incredibly original and authentic. As you already know, M said yes, and the session concluded with more hugs, kisses, and a few emotional tears.

I must confess that, on this particular day, Icelandic weather played a little trick on us, and we had to change the originally intended proposal location. Initially, our plan was to visit a charming waterfall in the Golden Circle area. However, despite it being only October, there was a significant snowfall that week, covering most roads in snow and ice. This made driving without winter tires a bit risky. For this reason, we made a last-minute change, selecting a location very close to Reykjavík. The result couldn't have made us happier!
